Please take a moment to read this information about the Enchilada/Taco/Chips & Salsa.
*All participants start from my house and finish there. No exceptions.
*If it’s not too wet, you can park along my driveway. You can also park along the spur road just past the entrance to my driveway (right side as you come up Growlers Gulch Road).
*This is a shotgun start. There will be a sign-up sheet in my garage. List the time you leave and enter the time you return. I will probably be turning cranks by 7:00. I’m guessing the first rider left at about 7 last year, maybe earlier. I will be up before 6 and will have the sign-up sheet ready.
*The fast guys can start as late as 9. If you are slower, you need to start earlier so that we don’t spend all day waiting for you to return.
*Just because you are doing the Taco or Chips & Salsa, don’t think you are going to be back quickly. I am guessing that most people who signed up for those rides will still require about five hours to finish.
*This is an unsupported ride. You are responsible for you food, fluid, clothing, and mechanical needs.
*In my opinion, the best place to stage food and fluid is where Trust Me intersects with BOGO. It’s easy to ride out there in advance, and at that stage of the race it is likely you could use a boost.
*Whether it’s hot or not, I strongly recommend that you use electrolytes throughout the day. I have seen people try to get by with sports drink. It did not end well.
*Unless you know Growlers like the back of your head, I recommend printing the ride route or having it on your phone. You can expect to see the usual number of course marshals.
*Bring a beverage, a lawn chair, and snacks. The people who get back first always cheer for riders as they roll in.
*I’m still deciding what to do about the after-party. I might cook some brats and have participants fill in the rest with chips and cookies. If not, we will go to the Pastime.
