No turning back now. We will have more than 100 people out for Sunday’s work party. Be sure to take a look at the info below. Also, if you know non-Growlers people who are coming, please pass it along to them.
- Weather: Expect rain. High of 46. Low of 41.
- Please carpool.
- If you don’t know the way in and can’t carpool or follow anyone, Steve Luther and Pete Sloniker will be at the gravel lot about 75 yards past Four Corners General Store at 7:55. They will leave at 8:05 and lead in anyone who meets them there. GPS Four Corners General Store. It is at the intersection of A Street and Westside Highway. If you are coming through Castle Rock, go straight through the intersection at the four-way. The gravel lot is on the left just a bit after that.
- Cell numbers for crew chiefs are available here. If you can’t make it, let them know so they don’t wait for you. If you are on Crews 4-7, you can always find them even if you are late. However, if you are on Crews 1-3 and show late, you will never find them unless you are very familiar with Growlers.
- Bring a handsaw and a dirt tool (Pulaski, Brookski, McLeod, hoe, shovel, rake)
- If you are on Crews 1, 2, 3, park near the blue gate. Crew chiefs will be loading bobs. They will make the call about what tools they can accommodate.
- Crew 4 can park along the first spur on the left past the intersection; there is also a spur on the right where you can unload. Crews 5 and 6 will park along the main road and on the spur on the right at the west end of the clear cut. Crew 7 will park on the spur on the left that heads toward the bottom of Without a Paddle. We will have signs out for Crews 4-7.
- Bring food, fluid, and appropriate gear. Good gloves are essential. Consider bringing a second pair.
- Start-time is 8:30. Expect to be out until at least 1.
- The after-party has been changed. All crews will be in Castle Rock after the build. Driving back into Castle Rock on A Street, take a left onto Front Street. Oasis and Pastime are on the left. Crosscut and the Vault are nearby. Crews 2, 3, and 7 will start at the Pastime; crews 4 and 5 at Crosscut; crews 1 and 6 at the Oasis; kids and parents at the Vault. Please have your initial beverage at your assigned starting point. After that, feel free to migrate and mingle. It will be like a progressive dinner for mountain bikers.
- If you have questions, NOW - not Sunday morning - is the time.
