One of my goals has long been to help get Growlers to a point where we have 50 miles of active trail before I go to the home. To tell you the truth, it’s always been more of a dream because I never believed it was possible.
Well, we are there. Would you believe we have 53.32 miles and approximately 60 individual trails. Some of the trails are as short as .15; others are as long as 5.1. And yes, some of them sort of mesh together.
Think about this accomplishment. An unofficial group has hand-built enough single-track to stretch from Castle Rock to the Interstate Bridge. All without the benefit of machines. My hat is off to the hundreds of people who have been involved at Growlers over the past 25 years. You guys are the reason we are who we are.
Don’t tell Sher. If she hears that I’ve reached this goal she’ll be thinking it’s time to make my reservation at one of the local assisted living facilities.
The story at the link here not only includes mileage for each trail but also a little info about how the trail was named and - possibly - where it is located.
