The Castle Rock Bike Park continues to grow.
At the north end of the park, a short gravel path takes riders to a trail that heads north on the very edge of the Cowlitz River. This is a great option for riders of all ages and ability levels.
Currently, the trail provides about a two-mile out-and-back. A 75-yard section at the north end is soft and sandy, and we are in the process of coming up with a solution for that.
The trail is open now, but we plan to assign a small crew to it at the July 14th work party. They will do general clean-up and we will continue to maintain the line.
Even more exciting is news from the City of Castle Rock that a second trail segment may take riders all the way to the mouth of the Toutle River, providing us with a remarkable 10-mile out-and-back. We plan to recon the north section and see how much work is needed to make it rideable.
